Plant-Based Meat Mixture

  • 1 package of plant-based ground meat
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wrap Ingredients

  • 4 large tortilla wraps
  • 4 slices of vegan cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard


Instructions

  1. Sauté Onions and Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  2. Cook Plant-Based Meat: Add plant-based ground meat to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula, allowing it to brown for 5-7 minutes. Stir in soy sauce or tamari, tomato paste, vegan Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Tortillas: Lay the tortillas flat or heat them briefly in a skillet or microwave for 10-15 seconds to make them more pliable.
  4. Assemble Wraps: Spread a thin layer of vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on each tortilla. Place a slice of vegan cheddar cheese on top, followed by a generous scoop of the cooked plant-based meat mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles.
  5. Wrap and Optional Grill: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward then roll it from the bottom up to enclose the filling securely. Optionally, place the wraps back in a skillet and grill them for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese and crisp the wrap exterior.
