Ribs:
- 2 racks baby back ribs (about 4 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Dry Rub:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Additional:
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ribs: Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Season the Ribs: Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne if using. Rub olive oil over the ribs and coat with the spice mixture.
- Cook in Slow Cooker: Cut the racks if needed to fit into the slow cooker. Pour barbecue sauce over the ribs and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until tender.
- Broil the Ribs: Brush with more sauce and broil for a few minutes until caramelized. Rest, slice, and serve.
