Description

This refreshing Sweet Peach Iced Tea combines the rich flavor of black tea with the natural sweetness of ripe peaches, enhanced by a hint of lemon and a cooling garnish of fresh mint. Perfect for warm days, this easy-to-make beverage is chilled and served over ice for a delightful summer treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags (or your preferred tea)

Peach Puree

  • 2 medium ripe peaches, peeled and sliced

Sweetener and Flavoring

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)

Serving

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil to prepare the tea base.
  2. Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Let them steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your preferred tea strength.
  3. Prepare Peach Puree: While the tea is steeping, place the peeled and sliced peaches into a blender and blend until smooth to create a fresh peach puree.
  4. Combine Ingredients: After steeping, remove the tea bags from the hot tea. Add the peach puree and granulated sugar to the tea, stirring well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Cool the Tea: Allow the tea mixture to cool down to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator to chill for about 1-2 hours.
  6. Add Lemon Juice: Before serving, stir in the lemon juice if desired to add a bright, citrusy note.
  7. Serve: Pour the chilled peach iced tea over ice cubes in glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy your refreshing drink!

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar according to your sweetness preference or substitute with a natural sweetener.
  • For a stronger peach flavor, use extra ripe peaches or add peach nectar alongside the puree.
  • Herbal or green tea can be used as alternatives to black tea for varying flavors.
  • Peel peaches before blending for a smoother texture, but leaving the skin on adds extra fiber.
  • Refrigerate the prepared tea if not serving immediately to keep it fresh and chilled.
