  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the gravy:

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water (for slurry)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 8 ounces mushrooms (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into meatballs.
  2. Cook in Slow Cooker: Place meatballs in slow cooker, add onions and mushrooms. Whisk beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup, pour over meatballs. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 2 1/2–3 hours.
  3. Thicken the Gravy: Make a slurry with cornstarch and water. Stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Serve warm over desired base.
