Ingredients
Scale
For the Pinwheels
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices pepperoni (or more, as needed)
Instructions
- Mix the filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, pizza sauce, and Italian seasoning. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
- Assemble the pinwheels: Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread 1/4 of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla.
- Add the toppings: Sprinkle 2 oz of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tortilla. Arrange 6 slices of pepperoni in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Roll and chill: Tightly roll up the tortilla from one side to the other. Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This helps the pinwheels stay intact when sliced.
- Slice and serve: Remove the roll from the refrigerator and unwrap the plastic. Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 1-inch slices. Arrange the pinwheels flat on a serving platter.
- Enjoy: Serve these cold pepperoni pizza pinwheels as a party appetizer or snack. Enjoy!
Notes
- For best results, allow the pinwheels to chill for at least one hour to maintain their shape when sliced.
- You can substitute turkey pepperoni for a slightly leaner option.
- Feel free to customize by adding sliced olives, diced bell peppers, or jalapeños before rolling.
- These pinwheels are best served cold or at room temperature.
- Use a sharp knife to get clean slices without squashing the pinwheels.
