Description

Indulge in the ultimate dessert experience with this Nutella-Stuffed Deep Dish Churro Skillet Cookie. A decadent treat combining the flavors of a classic churro with the richness of Nutella, all baked in a skillet for a gooey center and crispy edges.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Filling and Topping:

  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10-inch oven-safe skillet.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Cream softened butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients to form the dough.
  3. Assemble the Cookie: Press half of the dough into the skillet. Spread warmed Nutella over the dough. Top with remaining dough, seal edges, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  4. Bake: Bake for 28–32 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and additional cinnamon sugar.
  5. Serve: Cool slightly before slicing into wedges and serving.

Notes

  • For a gooier center, slightly underbake and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
  • Cream of tartar adds a churro-like tang but can be omitted if needed.
