Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes. Add vanilla extract and mix to combine.
  3. Add dry ingredients: Sift in the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until the dough comes together and is smooth but soft. Do not overmix.
  4. Shape cookies: Scoop out 1-tablespoon portions and roll into balls. Place on the baking sheet and press down with a fork to create a pattern.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12–14 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
