Ingredients
Scale
Fruit
- 1 cup ripe mango (fresh or frozen, chopped)
Dairy
- 3/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
Sweeteners & Spices
- 2–3 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
- pinch of salt
Optional
- ice cubes (for a chilled lassi)
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a blender, add the chopped mango, plain yogurt, milk, honey or sugar, ground cardamom if using, and a pinch of salt. This combination blends the vibrant mango flavor with the creamy base and subtle spice.
- Blend until smooth: Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy, ensuring all the mango pieces are fully incorporated and the texture is consistent.
- Add ice (optional): If you prefer a chilled lassi, add a few ice cubes to the blender and blend again until frothy and cold.
- Taste and adjust: Taste the lassi and add more sweetener if needed, blending briefly to combine any adjustments.
- Serve immediately: Pour the mango lassi into glasses and serve right away for the freshest flavor and best texture.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute the dairy yogurt and milk with plant-based alternatives such as coconut yogurt and almond or oat milk.
- If using canned mango pulp, reduce or eliminate the added sweetener as the pulp is typically already sweetened.
- Garnish the lassi with a pinch of cardamom powder or chopped pistachios for an authentic traditional touch.
- Serve chilled and consume immediately for the best taste and texture.
