Lasagna Noodles:
- 12 lasagna noodles

- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Cheese Mixture:
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for ricotta)
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Additional:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the noodles: in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the meat sauce: by cooking onion, garlic, and meat until browned. Add tomatoes, paste, and seasonings. Simmer.
- Mix the ricotta: with egg and salt.
- Assemble the lasagna: layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers.
- Bake: covered with foil, then uncovered, until bubbly and golden.
- Rest: before serving.
