- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare dry ingredients: Preheat oven to 425°F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in butter: Using a pastry cutter or fingers, cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add wet ingredients: Stir in vanilla extract and milk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Shape and bake: Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut into 8-10 rectangles or squares. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and fluffy.
- Cool and serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
