Description

These Hershey’s Red Velvet Blossoms Cookies are a delightful twist on the classic peanut butter blossoms. With a rich red velvet cookie base and a Hershey’s Kiss nestled in the center, these festive treats are perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Extra granulated sugar for rolling

Topping:

  • 36 Hershey’s Kisses (milk chocolate or cream-filled), unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring; mix until combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Form Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape Cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, then coat in granulated sugar.
  6. Bake: Place the dough balls on the baking sheet, bake for 8–10 minutes, then press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  7. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft to handle.
  • For a festive touch, use peppermint or hugs Kisses.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
