For the burger patties:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Additional ingredients:
- 4 slices pineapple (fresh or canned)
- 4 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices red onion
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the grill: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Prepare the patties: Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties, pressing an indent in the center of each. Grill for 4–5 minutes per side.
- Grill the pineapple: Brush pineapple slices with oil and grill for 1–2 minutes per side.
- Assemble the burgers: Toast buns, then spread mayonnaise on them. Layer lettuce, burger patty, teriyaki sauce, grilled pineapple, and red onion. Serve immediately.
