Description

Garlic Parmesan Rice is a flavorful and creamy side dish that pairs perfectly with a variety of main courses. This easy-to-make recipe combines aromatic garlic, savory Parmesan cheese, and fluffy white rice for a delicious accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
  2. Stir in the rice and toast for 1–2 minutes to lightly coat it in the butter and garlic.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined.
  5. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a tablespoon of cream cheese along with the Parmesan.
  • You can substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
