Description

Savor a delicious and hearty meal with Garlic Butter Steak Bites served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and tender sautéed green beans. This American classic features perfectly seared sirloin steak cubes tossed in garlic butter, complemented by fluffy potatoes and flavorful green beans for a balanced and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 1 ½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Green Beans

  • 12 oz green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mashed Potatoes: Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes for 12–15 minutes until they are fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper, then mash everything until smooth and creamy. Cover and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Sauté Green Beans: Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the trimmed green beans and sauté for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender-crisp. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and keep warm.
  3. Cook Steak Bites: Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Working in batches to avoid overcrowding, sear the steak bites for 2–3 minutes on each side until they develop a browned crust. Reduce the heat to medium, add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet, then toss the steak bites in the garlic butter for 1–2 minutes to coat and infuse flavor. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
  4. Serve: Plate the garlic butter steak bites over a bed of mashed potatoes with the sautéed green beans on the side. Enjoy immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a more tender steak, consider using ribeye or New York strip cuts instead of sirloin.
  • To keep the steak juicy, avoid overcooking; aim for medium to medium-rare doneness.
  • You can prepare the mashed potatoes ahead of time and reheat just before serving.
