- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted)
For Serving (Optional):

Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Combine Ingredients: Whisk in sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in sifted cocoa powder until just combined.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until set. Cool, then invert onto a plate.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream, berries, or ganache.
