Meatballs:
- 2 lbs frozen fully cooked meatballs
French Onion Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry French onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté Onions: In a large skillet, sauté the sliced onions in olive oil until soft and golden brown.
- Combine Ingredients: Transfer onions to a crock pot. Add meatballs, dry soup mix, condensed soup, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir to combine.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours until heated through.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top during the last 15–20 minutes of cooking. Cover until melted.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or baguette slices.
