- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the Choux Pastry: In a saucepan, combine butter, water, and salt. Add flour, stir until a ball forms. Remove from heat, cool, then add eggs one at a time.
- Bake: Pipe mounds of dough onto the baking sheet and bake until puffed and golden.
- Make the Filling: Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Fill the Puffs: Slice puffs, fill with whipped cream, and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a pastry cream filling instead of whipped cream, make a vanilla custard and chill before piping into puffs.
