Description

Churros Poppers are delightful mini churros coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture, perfect for a fun and delicious treat. These fried dough bites are easy to make and sure to be a hit with both kids and adults!

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  2. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let cool slightly. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot to 375°F (190°C). Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, drop small portions of dough (about 1 tablespoon each) into the hot oil, frying a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a shallow bowl, mix the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Toss the warm churro poppers in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra fun, serve with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the fryer to maintain oil temperature and crispiness.
