Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, Chinese five spice powder, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
- Cook the Chicken: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade and cook for 5–7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
