- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Additional Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup chopped scallions (green onions)
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Cut in cold butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar and scallions. Add buttermilk and mix until just combined.
- Bake: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
