Description

Casino Buns with Chicken from the Oven is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that combines tender shredded chicken with a creamy, cheesy filling, all baked inside brioche buns until golden and melty. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a fun twist on sandwich night.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works well)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

For Assembly:

  • 4 large brioche or sandwich buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the chicken mixture: In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, mozzarella, cheddar, and green onions until well combined.
  3. Assemble the buns: Slice the buns in half and lay them open-faced on the baking sheet. Brush the cut sides with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Spoon a generous amount of the chicken mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns. Place the top halves over the filling and press gently.
  4. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the buns are golden and the filling is hot and melty.
  5. Serve: Remove from oven and let sit for 2 minutes. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can prepare the filling ahead and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
  • For extra flavor, add crumbled bacon or chopped jalapeños.
  • Serve with a fresh salad or crispy fries for a full meal.
