  • 1 package (11 oz) caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Chocolate Layer:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
  • Flaky sea salt for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crispy Rice Cereal Layer: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon butter in the microwave. Stir in 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal until coated. Press mixture into the pan.
  2. Create Caramel Layer: Melt caramel candies with heavy cream in the microwave until smooth. Pour caramel over the cereal layer.
  3. Make Chocolate Layer: Melt milk chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon butter until smooth. Stir in remaining cereal. Spread over the caramel layer. Garnish with sea salt if desired.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm. Cut into bars and enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
