  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch baking pan, depending on desired thickness.
  2. Mix the brownie batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in the sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas. Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined—do not overmix.
  3. Bake the brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  4. Prepare the frosting: Brown the butter in a saucepan, then cool slightly. Whisk together the browned butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.
